NyproMold’s on-site Advanced Technical Center (ATC) enables us to demonstrate the capabilities of your new mold and identify the best molding process prior to shipment. Our process engineers are all Master Molder II or III certified and utilize Scientific Molding processing techniques to ensure smooth and timely startup in the field.
Detailed mold qualification requirements are established based on the customer’s input. Or process includes proving mold functionality, producing quality plastic parts, and developing an acceptable process window at the fastest cycle time. We provide a complete qualification report and mold manual that outlines process and installation parameters.
Our extensive metrology lab offers first article inspection (FAI), visual inspection, and final acceptance test (FAT) measurements to demonstrate process capability before we ship the mold.
The ATC has a wide range of capabilities, including injection molding machines that range from 30T to 500T, with stack mold, clean room, and two- and three-material capability. The ATC operates two shifts a day, seven days a week, and can install customer-specific machines for large programs.
Additional ATC services and capabilities include:
- Material testing
- Color testing
- Extended sampling
- CPK runs
- End of arm tool (EOAT) setup and debugging
- Steel safe inspection
- Customer-specific packaging
- Advanced sequencing/integration of auxiliary equipment
- Turnkey systems
- Design of experiments (DOE) development
- Cycle time failure analysis
- Decoupled III process development
- In-process inspection
- Thermal imaging
- High-speed video analysis
Metrology
Our metrology lab is ISO 9001 accredited [ISOQAR: Cert #7501QMS001] and houses advanced CMM and vision systems, including a computed tomography (CT) x-ray scanner. The lab operates multiple shifts to support NyproMold’s Advanced Technology Center for mold qualifications and customers’ metrology inspection needs.
Service and capabilities include:
- First article inspection (FAI)
- CP study
- Visual inspections
- Gage R&R
- Steel safe measurements
- Design of experiments (DOE) inspection
- Physical testing (such as drop and lift force)
- Custom fixturing
3D Proscan (CT) scanning
Industrial x-ray computed tomography (CT) scanning is an established, fast, high-accuracy, and noninvasive technology used for measuring and visualizing precision parts and assemblies.
Industrial CT scanning generates a precise 3D model of an article from a large series of 2D x-ray images, similar to a medical CAT scan. Virtual 3D inspections and advanced geometry processing software allow our clients to make better decisions faster.
Our CT scan data viewers can be easily shared and provide convenient access to scan results that can be saved, recalled, or exported at any time.
Part to CAD Comparison
A part is analyzed to determine its overall dimensional accuracy.
Part to Part Comparison
Two parts are overlaid, compared, and analyzed for similarities and differences.
Fast Dimensional Inspection
Parts are programmed using a CAD model and 2D print ahead of time, allowing parts to be built in parallel.
3d Assembly Analysis
Nondestructive scanning allows internal features to be measured and analyzed without damage to the article.
